It is fantastic to see that, despite all the difficulties that coronavirus has brought, the Angel is continuing to be a hive of activity with lots of bowls taking place at the moment. It is great to see so many new bowlers taking part as well as the more established members. Leagues are going well and matches at all levels are taking place. We are so lucky to have this wonderful facility in our town!
We now need to start to plan for the summer. We have already had some enquiries about friendly fixtures for the summer. However summer bowls- including leagues, matches, competitions, organised roll ups- can only take place with volunteers to organise them. Following the standing down of the previous long-serving Summer Committee we now need some new volunteers to organise the summer activities. Can you help?
We have had a couple of volunteers already but Ideally a small group of about five people is needed to cover all the different aspects. Could you or a small group of you take on some area of this responsibility?
Without members coming forward to help, the summer programme simply cannot happen.
Please consider volunteering to help out in some way, however small. If everyone does their bit, the Angel will continue to flourish and we can all continue to enjoy our bowling throughout the year.
In particular, we urgently need someone to take on the role of summer fixture secretary. There are not that many matches so the job would be relatively easy to do (see separate News Article).
If you are able to volunteer to help in any way, or would like more information about what is involved, please email the office at the club, angeloffice@angelibc.co.uk, or leave name and telephone number behind the bar and someone will get back to you. Alternatively speak to Neil Ramage, Paul Gent (volunteer Directors) or Chris Bruce (Volunteers Boeling Committee Chair) at the club.
Many thanks
Chris Bruce
